Firefighters to join NSW Public Sector Rally Wed 15/6/11

IR Laws petition pls fax to Union office when done.pdf Download this file

The O'Farrell Govt's IR laws look to be passed next week, despite our contact with MP's and the rally's at Parliament. Our working conditions are now set to be in the hands of the Govt without appeal to the Industrial Relations Commission. It appears we will now have less workplace rights than most workers in Australia.

The entire Public Sector, incl Emergency Services, will be attending the rally next week.

What: Public Sector Rally against O'Farrell IR laws

Where: Parliament House

When: Wed 15th June 2011

Time: 12.00 midday

Please find below a "briefing note" and background info related to our fight against O'Farrell's new IR laws. This is for general distribution, and it would be appreciated if you could please pass it on to your workplace, and networks.

Attached is the petition and notice board flyer being circulated to all Unions.

The flyer advertises the rally on June 15 outside Parliament.
Please printout the flyer and distribute at your fire station/workplace.

The petition we would ask all members and their friends and families to sign.
Please printout the petition (several pages) and also distribute, collect, then fax them into the Union office on 9218 3488.

We will then collate them and get them UnionsNSW.

So, key points for now:

1. The Rally next week - Wed 15th June - please support
2. Background info and flyer to be distributed to workplaces and members.
3. Petition to be passed around, signed, and faxed to Union Office.

Your support is appreciated, the Union cannot do this alone, we need your help.

Regards and Unity....
