The fear from skeptics, and the popularist following from the Coalition, seems to be taking hold with the community, scary stuff. They may try to label the carbon scheme as futile, but the scientific and economic majority are saying that this is the first step in moving our country forward with new technology, and clean ones at that.Why is that bad?So now we know, most Australians will be better off under the scheme.Why is that bad?Most won't see any financial difference, and business will be encouraged to change to cleaner practices. New opportunities will also open up.Why is that bad?Key Unions like the CFMEU are behind ALP plan 100%. We can go forwards, or backwards. This is a one time chance to make a start. Last chance too.Twiggy is out there looking to mine more of Australia's land (much to the horror of our first peoples), and the only people running scare campaigns on tv through advertising are big polluters, who the tax is aimed at anyway.Big polluters are starting it's own defense on TV of it's own offensive profits, claiming to be the friend of the worker. Meanwhile the Unions support the scheme, having already done the representation required on the ground.Clear signals are in front of us, but we ignore them, feeding off the plain speak of snake oils salesman like Abbott, Lord Monkton, and Alan Jones. 'Hansomism' may be latent, but it never left.And why is fuel exempt? Well, there's 2 reasons for that, for mine.1. The Greens and a hung Parliament
2. The fact that if this scheme didn't exempt fuel, that the very people who are whinging about the costs of the scheme now, would be up in arms even more. The final attempt to make a start for the future of this country would be doomed.And so we continue on with hypocritical positions like "you better not tax my fuel PM, or you're out", while the very next day, the same people bleat, "you didn't tax fuel PM, now the scheme is weaker, you're out."All the while the skeptical sheep out to oppose everyone, and conservative pollies out to look after themselves, rub their hands together with glee.What will our kids think of us? We are an embarrassment to the future, and to the past.
