RISE: #Refugees, Survivors and Ex-Detainees #Auspol

The RISE Blog covers the current local and international climate facing migrants to Australia- with a focus on (but not limited to) those who travel as asylum seekers and refugees. Our analysis is intersectional, viewing the experience of migration not only through the lense of ‘race,’ but at the same time gender, religion, sexual orientation, class and ability.

With contributors among the most experienced political critics, activists and community organisers in Australia, the RISE Blog seeks to present an experienced and nuanced voice on refugee and migrant issues amongst the open warfare (on the one hand) and dog whistling (on the other) that has come to represent much of Australian media coverage on these topics.

Join the discussion with contributors: Ramesh Fernandez, Eugenia Flynn, Ferial Glaidous, Nazeem Hussain, Madhuni Kumarakulasinghe, Waleed Mussa, Jayani Nadarajalingam, Aamer Rahman, Mera Sivanesan, Sanmati Verma and watch this space.
