Burn or jump: a horrific decision
The Sydney unit block where a woman died and another was critically injured in a fire would probably not pass current safety regulations, senior firefighters say.
The fire door, which is meant to withstand fire for more than an hour, burnt through.
The two women clung to a narrow window ledge outside their Bankstown unit as the fierce blaze erupted yesterday afternoon.
