THE state government has been hit by more industrial action - this time by firefighters who have put work bans in place this morning.
After Tuesday’s bus strike, firefighters have decided to put a ban on relieving firefighters going to help crews and on paperwork being done, starting from 8am today.
The matter will go to the Industrial Relations Commission at noon.
The Fire Brigade Employees Union State Secretary Jim Casey said the department had failed to implement an agreement to allow injured firefighters to drive logistic support vehicles, rather than simply be paid out.
